Our beginnings
If you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve seen our work in a hotel lobby, a restaurant you love, or that one friend’s impossibly well-designed home. Welcome. Pull up a chair (we made it).
We’re RFP Design, and we’ve been quietly obsessed with making furniture since way before it was cool to talk about craft and provenance.
Our mission, in one sentence: to create furniture so well-made, so thoughtfully designed, that it becomes part of your story, not just your space.
Two Sides of the Same Coin
By day, we’re the behind-the-scenes makers for Canada’s top interior designers, architects, and hospitality groups.
By night (and increasingly by day), we’re Studio by RFP: our direct-to-you collection of the pieces designers keep asking us to remake.
We got tired of saying “sorry, that’s custom only.” So we stopped saying it.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
We’re not a furniture brand that outsources production. We’re a production studio that became a furniture brand.
Every piece starts as an idea sketched on our shop floor, gets prototyped by people who actually know how wood behaves, and leaves our facility only when it meets the standard we’d accept for a luxury restaurant buildout.
Real materials
Solid hardwoods. Full-grain leather. Upholstery that performs in high-traffic spaces.

The Toronto Connection
We’re based in Mississauga, Ontario, close enough to Toronto to absorb all its design energy and far enough to have the space to build at scale.
WHY WE WENT DIRECT
For years, we watched designers discover our work through projects, then ask if they could buy pieces for their own homes. It felt backwards, so in 2024 we flipped the script.
What to Expect
Furniture that looks contemporary but won’t feel dated in a decade. Sculptural forms that don’t sacrifice comfort. Woods that age better over time.
Lead times because we’re making this for you, not pulling it from a warehouse. Fabric samples because big decisions shouldn’t be made from a screen.
