If you're here, it's probably because you've seen our work—in a hotel lobby, a restaurant you love, or that one friend's impossibly well-designed home. Welcome. Pull up a chair (we made it).
We're RFP Design, and we've been quietly obsessed with making furniture since way before it was cool to talk about "craft" and "provenance."
Our mission, in one sentence: To create furniture so well-made, so thoughtfully designed, that it becomes part of your story—not just your space.
Two Sides of the Same Coin
By day, we're the behind-the-scenes makers for Canada's top interior designers, architects, and hospitality groups. If you've stayed at a boutique hotel and wondered "where did they get that headboard?"—there's a decent chance we built it in our Mississauga workshop.
By night (and increasingly by day), we're Studio by RFP—our direct-to-you collection of the pieces designers keep asking us to remake. The bar stool that's been spec'd into 47 restaurants. The lounge chair that caused a minor Instagram moment. The dining table that's been quietly anchoring dinner parties since 2018.
We got tired of saying "sorry, that's custom only." So we stopped saying it.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
We're not a furniture brand that outsources production. We're a production studio that became a furniture brand.
Every piece starts as an idea sketched on our shop floor, gets prototyped by people who actually know how wood behaves, and leaves our facility only when it meets the standard we'd accept for a luxury restaurant buildout.

WHY WE WENT DIRECT
For years, we watched designers discover our work through projects, then ask if they could buy pieces for their own homes. Their clients would ask the same thing. We'd politely redirect them to the nearest design showroom (that didn't carry our work).
Studio by RFP is what happens when commercial-grade craft meets residential accessibility. It's the furniture we've been making all along, just without the middleman, the markup, or the "to-the-trade-only" gatekeeping.
What to Expect
Furniture that looks contemporary but won't feel dated in a decade. Sculptural forms that don't sacrifice comfort. Woods that age better than most relationships.
Lead times (because we're making this for you, not pulling it from a warehouse). Fabric samples (because big decisions shouldn't be made from a screen). Real conversations about what actually works in your space.
We're makers who like design people, not design people who hired makers. We'll geek out about joinery if you want. We'll also just help you pick a bar stool. Both are good.
